satyavratasya rājarṣer

māyā-matsyasya śārńgiṇaḥ

saḿvādaḿ mahad-ākhyānaḿ

śrutvā mucyeta kilbiṣāt

SYNONYMS

satyavratasya — of King Satyavrata; rāja-ṛṣeḥ — of the great king; māyā-matsyasya — and the fish incarnation; śārńgiṇaḥ — who had one horn on His head; saḿvādam — the description or dealings; mahat-ākhyānam — the great story; śrutvā — by hearing; mucyeta — is delivered; kilbiṣāt — from all sinful reactions.

TRANSLATION

This story concerning the great King Satyavrata and the fish incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Viṣṇu, is a great transcendental narration. Anyone who hears it is delivered from the reactions of sinful life.
