nāhaḿ bibhemi nirayān

nādhanyād asukhārṇavāt

na sthāna-cyavanān mṛtyor

yathā vipra-pralambhanāt

SYNONYMS

na — not; ahamI; bibhemiam afraid of; nirayāt — from a hellish condition of life; na — nor; adhanyāt — from a poverty-stricken condition; asukha-arṇavāt — nor from an ocean of distresses; na — nor; sthāna-cyavanāt — from falling from a position; mṛtyoḥ — nor from death; yathāas; vipra-pralambhanāt — from the cheating of a brāhmaṇa.

TRANSLATION

I do not fear hell, poverty, an ocean of distress, falldown from my position or even death itself as much as I fear cheating a brāhmaṇa.
