kaśyapo 'trir vasiṣṭhaś ca

viśvāmitro 'tha gautamaḥ

jamadagnir bharadvāja

iti saptarṣayaḥ smṛtāḥ

SYNONYMS

kaśyapaḥKaśyapa; atriḥAtri; vasiṣṭhaḥVasiṣṭha; ca — and; viśvāmitraḥViśvāmitra; athaas well as; gautamaḥGautama; jamadagniḥ — Jamadagni; bharadvājaḥ — Bharadvāja; iti — thus; sapta-ṛṣayaḥ — the seven sages; smṛtāḥ — celebrated.

TRANSLATION

Kaśyapa, Atri, Vasiṣṭha, Viśvāmitra, Gautama, Jamadagni and Bharadvāja are known as the seven sages.
