vāyv-agni-varuṇādayaḥ

sūdayām āsur asurān

anye — others; api — also; evamin this way; pratidvandvān — the opposing party of belligerants; vāyu — the demigod known as Vāyu; agni — the demigod known as Agni; varuṇa-ādayaḥ — the demigod known as Varuṇa and others; sūdayām āsuḥ — began to kill vigorously; asurān — all the demons; mṛgān — deer; kesariṇaḥ — lions; yathā — just as.

TRANSLATION

Vāyu, Agni, Varuṇa and other demigods began killing the demons who opposed them, just as lions kill deer in a forest.
