ity aśeṣa-samāmnāya-

purāṇopaniṣad-rasaḥ

samuddhṛtaḥ pūrva-jātair

vyoma-yānair mahātmabhiḥ

SYNONYMS

iti — thus; aśeṣa — of all; samāmnāya — the Vedas; purāṇa — and Purāṇas; upaniṣat — comprising the confidential mystery; rasaḥ — the nectar; samuddhṛtaḥ — distilled; pūrvain the distant past; jātaiḥ — by those who were born; vyomain the higher regions of the universe; yānaiḥ — who travel; mahā-ātmabhiḥ — saintly persons.

TRANSLATION

Thus the ancient saints who travel in the upper heavens distilled this nectarean and confidential essence of all the Vedas and Purāṇas.
