rājasūyāvabhṛthyena

snāto rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ

brahma-kṣatra-sabhā-madhye

śuśubhe sura-rāḍ iva

SYNONYMS

rājasūya — of the Rājasūya sacrifice; avabhṛthyena — by the final, avabhṛtya ritual; snātaḥ — bathed; rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ — King Yudhiṣṭhira; brahma-kṣatra — of brāhmaṇas and kṣatriyas; sabhā — of the assembly; madhyein the midst; śuśubhehe appeared brilliant; sura — of the demigods; rāṭ — the King (Lord Indra); iva — like.

TRANSLATION

Purified in the final, avabhṛthya ritual, which marked the successful completion of the Rājasūya sacrifice, King Yudhiṣṭhira shone among the assembled brāhmaṇas and kṣatriyas like the King of the demigods himself.
