sahadevaḿ dakṣiṇasyām

ādiśat saha sṛñjayaiḥ

diśi pratīcyāḿ nakulam

udīcyāḿ savyasācinam

prācyāḿ vṛkodaraḿ matsyaiḥ

kekayaiḥ saha madrakaiḥ

SYNONYMS

sahadevamSahadeva; dakṣiṇasyāmto the south; ādiśathe ordered; saha — with; sṛñjayaiḥ — the warriors of the Sṛñjaya clan; diśito the direction; pratīcyām — western; nakulamNakula; udīcyāmto the north; savyasācinamArjuna; prācyāmto the east; vṛkodaramBhīma; matsyaiḥ — the Matsyas; kekayaiḥ — the Kekayas; saha — together with; madrakaiḥ — and the Madrakas.

TRANSLATION

He sent Sahadeva to the south with the Sṛñjayas, Nakula to the west with the Matsyas, Arjuna to the north with the Kekayas, and Bhīma to the east with the Madrakas.
