dūta uvāca

iti māgadha-saḿruddhā

bhavad-darśana-kańkṣiṇaḥ

prapannāḥ pāda-mūlaḿ te

dīnānāḿ śaḿ vidhīyatām

SYNONYMS

dūtaḥ uvāca — the messenger said; iti — thus; māgadha — by Jarāsandha; saḿruddhāḥ — imprisoned; bhavat — of You; darśana — for the sight; kāńkṣiṇaḥ — anxiously awaiting; prapannāḥ — surrendered; pāda — of the feet; mūlamto the base; te — Your; dīnānāmto the pitiable; śam — benefit; vidhīyatām — please bestow.

TRANSLATION

The messenger continued: This is the message of the kings imprisoned by Jarāsandha, who all hanker for Your audience, having surrendered to Your feet. Please bestow good fortune on these poor souls.
