ity ukto 'cyutam ānamya

gato māheśvaro jvaraḥ

bāṇas tu ratham ārūḍhaḥ

prāgād yotsyan janārdanam

SYNONYMS

iti — thus; uktaḥ — addressed; acyutamto Kṛṣṇa, the infallible Supreme Lord; ānamya — bowing down; gataḥ — went; māheśvaraḥ — of Lord Śiva; jvaraḥ — the fever weapon; bāṇaḥ — Bāṇāsura; tu — but; ratham — his chariot; ārūḍhaḥ — riding; prāgāt — came forward; yotsyan — intending to fight; janārdanam — Lord Kṛṣṇa.

TRANSLATION

Thus addressed, the Māheśvara-jvara bowed down to the infallible Lord and went away. But Bāṇāsura then appeared, riding forth on his chariot to fight Lord Kṛṣṇa.
