tato rathād avaplutya

khaḍga-pāṇir jighāḿsayā

kṛṣṇam abhyadravat kruddhaḥ

patańga iva pāvakam

SYNONYMS

tataḥ — then; rathāt — from his chariot; avaplutya — leaping down; khaḍgaa sword; paṇiḥin his hand; jighāḿsayā — with the desire to kill; kṛṣṇam — Lord Kṛṣṇa; abhyadravathe ran toward; kruddhaḥ — furious; patańgaḥa bird; ivaas; pāvakam — the wind.

TRANSLATION

Then Rukmī leaped down from his chariot and, sword in hand, rushed furiously toward Kṛṣṇa to kill Him, like a bird flying into the wind.
